Diver – Professional Diving Instructor

Born in Germany and raised in Thessaloniki, Ilias Papadopoulos has been professionally involved in scuba diving. He took his first steps in Kalamitsi, Halkidiki in 2000, beginning a journey that evolved into a lifelong passion and a distinguished career.
Throughout his career, he has trained and dived alongside some of the most respected Greek and international instructors in the field, gaining deep experience and a refined, safety-focused approach to diving.
His foundational training originates from UDI of the German CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques). He has been recognized for his work as a diver, instructor, and underwater photographer, and has been awarded the highest CMAS certification, CMAS Four-Star Diver.
He has served as a PADI and DDI (Disabled Dive Instructor) instructor, specializing in scuba training for divers with disabilities. Today, he holds the highest distinction within SSI (Scuba Schools International) as a Master Assistant Instructor – Gold Diver.
Since 2016, he has been active during the summer seasons at Azure Diving Center in Toroni, Halkidiki, an SSI-certified dive center. He has completed more than 8,000 dives, both in Greece and in world-class diving destinations including Cyprus, Belgium, Spain, Egypt, Jordan, Thailand, the United States, the Philippines, Malaysia, Russia, Portugal, and the Maldives.
He firmly believes that the Toroni – Porto Koufo area offers some of the finest diving conditions in Greece, which is why he chose Toroni as the base of his professional activity.
He holds a powerboat license and is a certified regulator and cylinder technician, as well as a scuba equipment technician, ensuring the highest standards of safety and equipment performance.
